The room where we work

Our class is held in a super comfortable dance room with a wooden floor which provides us with the advantage of heaps of room to spread out and dance our hearts away.

The front wall is covered with very big mirrors from the bottom up to roof so we could watch ourselves and eachovers progress while we dance.

BellyAerobics & BellyDancing All in one   class!

We also like to do aerobics, (also known as Belly Aerobics) at the start of each lesson to lighten up our spirits and to make you feel like your ' in the groove '.

I choreograph the belly aerobics dances using the traditional art of bellydance, but with a slight twist!

The dances we do are very upbeat and fun, and at the same time keeps us very fit. we dance to modern songs by well known artists like Beyonce, Jason Derulo, Maroon 5, Shakira etc..

About The Teacher

My name is Natasha DabravolskayaI`am a Belly dance instructor/teacher and performer.

I had moved to Tasmania, Hobart with my husband and daughter (who also dances and plays piano) from Russia in 2007.

Through out the earlier past of my life I have been involved with music as I studied piano and the theory of music, as well as a choir conductor. A little bit later I graduated from the music industry and became a music teacher for the young, and I still am teaching up to this very day. I was also involved in dancing back then as swell, as I got taught traditional Russian folkloric dances that somehow really inspired me to do BellyDancing.

Having the musical background helped a lot. Whenever I hear something I like, I immediately see a dance in it, and Informed by my music background as a pianist, I create a choreography that utilizes musical composition as storytelling- investigating the silent space within the measure.

As a choreographer, I must think carefully when choosing music for the dances. The musical backdrop creates a mood or atmosphere for the dance that will color how the audience sees and experiences it. The rhythm, or pattern of beats in the music, can influence the speed and phrasing of the movement. When a piece of music strikes me, I usually have a clear image or a precise sense of what I want to do with it in terms of movement.

Dance is performed to music. Music and dance are both art forms, and I personally think its a great way to express yourself through the art of bellydancing, as it is involved with your feminine and graceful side. My passion for bellydance is what made me start teaching at the start, it made me want to share that passion with the world so everybody could connect and feel the true sense of what almost feels like magic, which is how I feel each time I dance.

In my class I make sure that everyone leaves the room with a smile on their face as I provide a very fun and energetic time for my students each day.
